FAQ’s
Some answers to the most frequently asked questions about my WebCare plans.
Are there cancellation fees?
Nope! These WebCare plans are monthly or annual with a no-risk, no questions asked guarantee. If for any reason you need to pull your website from the WebCare plan, you have complete freedom to do so. Your plan is simply billed out for the month or year that you signed up for per your contract 🙂
Are there any setup fees?
If e design studio, LLC is building your website, there is no setup fee for our WebCare plans as long as you sign up for the plan within a 90 day period from the launch of your site.
If, after 90 days, you’d like to join one of our WebCare plans, there is a $297 setup fee for any plan level. This fee is required to catch up on all updates and maintenance missed during that 90 days; we must update tools, clean up the database, install maintenance tools and backup the site, among other tasks.
If you’d like to join one of our WebCare plans, and it’s a site we built but it’s been two years or more since we touched the site, there is a $2297 setup fee*, as we need to do a lot of work up front to update the site and get it caught up to proper maintenance standards.
* Please note: The fee for sites that are two years or beyond from any maintenance is a rough estimate. Depending on our site diagnosis, the fee may be more depending multiple factors and will be determined prior to accepting your site into one of our plans.
Do you offer just maintenance?
No. We only do offer this for sites which we build.
What if I pass on the plan?
Our WebCare plans are not mandatory for clients but because of the importance of security, optimization, updates, backups, support, etc., are highly recommended.
That said, if you choose to forego our WebCare plan, you’re welcome to do so at your discretion. You will, in that case, assume complete responsibility for the website updates, security, backups and other services laid out in this plan by reviewing our LIABILITY CLAUSE that releases us from any involvement if and when the website is breached, hacked or performs slowly because the lack of proper optimization.
Can I join the plan if I originally pass?
Absolutely! If you decide to come back to us after having initially passed on the plan due to the work that’s involved in order to properly maintain the site, we’ll welcome you to the plan with open arms and make sure your site is protected and cared for. See the setup fees question above for additional information about onboarding a site to a WebCare plan after 90 days or more.
What if I require more time than the monthly support allows?
We’ll always try to get your updates done within the allotted time to save you some extra cost but if you have a decent amount of updates that will require more hours, we’ll give you an estimate of time and do that at our hourly rate which is reduced for you as one of our WebCare clients.
What if I pass on the plan and my site gets hacked?
In this case, you’re welcome to handle it on your own by reaching out to our preferred malware and blacklist removal specialists (Sucuri) or if you’d like to join our plan and have us take care of getting the hack cleaned, we have a site cleaning/set up fee – if this happens, we will reach out with the cost.
Depending on the type of hack/breach and how long the site has been compromised, SEO rankings and blacklisting issues may take weeks or even months to resolve. In some cases, additional work (for additional fees) will be required to recover from these issues and may cost more than the amount shown above.
Important note: We do not fix website hacks unless the site is subsequently added to one of our WebCare plans and has been built by us.
What if the site gets hacked or breached while on the plan?
In the extremely unlikely event that a website is breached or hacked in any way while on our WebCare plan, we take full responsibility and will rectify the situation immediately. You will not need to do a thing.
Do you take on sites that you didn't build?
No. We do not take on websites that we did not build.
Do you offer price breaks for multiple sites?
Absolutely! If you choose to have us host and maintain additional sites under your account, you’ll get a 30% discount (monthly or annual) for every site you add which will be active for as long as we host and maintain the sites.
Does my plan's update time roll over?
Unfortunately no. The retainer of hourly updates is covered for that time period* but does not rollover or add up for later use.
* Monthly for Elite and Essential Plans, and quarterly for Express plans.
What's included in the update time?
Your plan’s update time covers any updates, additions or add-ons to your website content. For example, changing hours, company information, staff or team members, adding new photos, updating services pages, etc.
While we do our best to get updates done within your allotted time, if more time is required, we can do so at our hourly rate, which is discounted for you if you are a WebCare plan subscriber.
Note: The allotted website update time is for work or updates on the existing website and cannot be used for other projects or a step-by-step website revamp. We are happy to do additional work on your website either via our discounted hourly rate or via a discounted and separate fixed project.
No-Risk Guarantee
My plans come with a no-risk, no-questions-asked guarantee. In the unlikely event that you want to pull your site off the plan, you only pay for the month or year you’ve paid for and you’ll be provided with all site files and logins.
